Family and Medical Leave
The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) allows eligible employees who work for covered employers up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave during any 12-month period for specific family or medical reasons. In addition, most state and local laws offer protected leave to qualified employees. Under FMLA, both employers and employees are covered by certain rights and responsibilities.
