Description
Health experts have issued warnings about a potential global outbreak of a lethal pandemic strain of influenza---the avian flu (also known as the “bird flu”)---that could kill over a half of a million people in the U.S. alone, hospitalize 2 million more, and cost our economy an estimated $160 - $675 billion. In the event of a pandemic flu, businesses will play a key role in protecting employees' health and safety as well as limiting the negative impact to the economy and society. Planning for a pandemic flu is critical because it would likely affect businesses in a number of ways. Workers may miss significant time at work, precautions may cause disruptions, and business income could be adversely impacted. A severe pandemic could cause some businesses to suspend operations. In response to this, OSHA is encouraging employers and employees who are most likely to be exposed to a pandemic such as avian flu to take the appropriate precautions. Personnel Concepts’ new Avian Flu Poster communicates the guidelines released by OSHA, World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Our four color poster covers important topics that can protect the safety and health and employees in the event of an outbreak. Specifications
