New Jersey Issues Minimum Wage Poster for 2014
Dec 4, 2013
The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development has released updated “Wage and Hour Law Abstract” and “Payment of Wages” notices.
According to the Wage and Hour Law abstract (MW-220), effective Jan. 1, 2014, the minimum wage in New Jersey will increase from $7.25 per hour to $8.25 per hour. The $1 increase is a result of recent voter-approved legislation and does not reflect any future increases to come.
Effective immediately, the Payment of Wages notice (MW-17) was revised to include U.S. government bonds, child care services and health club membership fees as a permissible deduction from employee wages.
This combination of notices appears as one panel on the New Jersey SS1 and SLLP. Update panels or posters will be sent to subscribers. Others should call Customer Service at (800) 333-3795 to inquire about obtaining a copy.
